Historic Buildings and Gardens (Hansard, 17 November 1987)
HC Deb 17 November 1987 vol 122 c518W
64. Mr. Dickens

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information he has on the number of admissions to historic buildings and gardens in Britain last year and the amount of revenue raised by admission chages.

Mr. Lee

The British tourist authority estimates that in 1986, a total of 67.8 million visits were made to historic buildings and gardens in Britain. Admission charges for these visits are estimated to have produced revenue of £118 million.
