El Salvador (Hansard, 4 November 1987)
HC Deb 04 November 1987 vol 121 c716W
Mr. Hood

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent reports he has received on the current human rights situation in El Salvador.

Mr. Eggar

We receive regular reports from various sources, including on the recent appalling murder of Mr. Herbert Anaya. The United Nations special representative's latest report indicates a further overall improvement in the situation, notes that the Government of El Salvador are doing what they can to combat the death squads and condemns killings, kidnapping and the indiscriminate use of landmines by the guerillas.
